Getting to know Tia E. Elliston

Tia grew up in Clarence, New York, where she graduated with honors from Clarence High School. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, cum laude, from Xavier University, graduating in three years. During her time at Xavier, she served as a manager for the women’s volleyball team, where she developed strong leadership, organizational, and teamwork skills that continue to inform her professional approach.

Following graduation, Tia attended the University at Buffalo School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor. While in law school, she served on the boards of several student organizations and found her greatest passion in the Black Law Students Association. As a DEI Council Representative, she acted as a strategic advisor and advocate, driving initiatives designed to foster inclusive and equitable academic and professional environments.

Tia’s dedication to workers’ compensation law stems from her desire to advocate for individuals during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. She is drawn to this field because it allows her to combine her legal training, business background, and passion for advocacy to protect the rights of injured workers. With strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a client-focused mindset, Tia is well suited to navigating the complexities of workers’ compensation matters. She is committed to ensuring clients feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout the legal process while working diligently to secure fair and just outcomes.

Tia is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and is an active member of the Minority Bar Association, the Erie County Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association and the New York Injured Workers’ Bar Association.
